Samsung-Baytur JV builds 2 towers at Downtown Burj Dubai
The Downtown Dubai development surrounds Burj Dubai Tower and the Dubai Mall.
The Burj Dubai Development comprises The Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping and entertainment complex; The Residences, an exclusive upscale series of high-rise apartment towers; an Office Park; Burj Dubai Lake Hotel,;Burj Views; The Old Town, a low-rise traditional residences community inspired by the stylist antiquity of Arabian architecture and The Burj Dubai Boulevard, a 3.5 km stretch that binds the entire district and gives it an international ambience, besides man-made lakes and landscaped parks.
The project named “Burj Dubai Development Buildings 12+13” is going to be called Boulevard Plaza 1 and 2 after its completion. The Boulevard Plaza Tower 1 with 36 storeys and the Boulevard Plaza Tower 2 with 30 storeys will contain a mix of offices, retail facilities and parking spaces. More than 2,100 parking spaces in nine floors will address parking issues for Tower 1 and there will be pedestrian links to the Dubai Metro.
Samsung-Baytur JV decided to use the PERI ACS climbing system for the cores, VARIO for the walls, in some areas PD8 as a high load tower for shoring and PERI tables for the slabs. The tables were especially designed for the project and are 8.5 meters long, using both the new TK and the common SWIVEL HEAD for the GIRDER – PROP connection. At the non typical floors Samsung-Baytur JV is achieving a 7 day cycle period, but they are aiming at a 6 day floor cycle once they have reached the typical floors.
