6m high PD8 towers support the interchange formwork
To ensure smooth traffic the RTA (Dubai Roads and Traffic Authority) has assigned Yuksel to construct the AED 290 million interchange between Al Qusais and the Airport Tunnel.
PERI formwork is used for both parts of the project, the bridge and the tunnel.
The Bridge Part:
The bridge is constructed in six stages: construction stage 1 with a length of 96.20m, adjacent stages at 48.50m(2x), 48.0m(2x) and 32.0m(2x) respectively. The total length of the bridge is 353.20m. The bridge formwork is supported by six meter high PERI PD8 Towers. The slab decking is done with with PERI MULTIFLEX using VT20. The wing walls and internal walls are done with VARIO GT 24.
The Tunnel Part:
The Tunnel Underpass consists of 20 segments of tunnels with a span of 31m each. The total length of the underpass is 621.50m. The tunnel wall heights start with 1.42m and is 8.45m at it’s maximum. In the tunnel wall formwork VARIO with 6 meter long GT24 girders spliced with a 2.40m extension is used.
