2062 apartments & 34 Villas with over 300,000qm of concrete
Dubailand is the world’s most ambitious tourism, leisure and entertainment project, designed to position Dubai as an international hub of family tourism. The venture is estimated at AED 235 billion, the project will cover an area of 3 billion square feet, it has 7 themes: Theme parks, culture & art, science & planetariums, sports & sports academies, wellbeing & health, shopping & retail and resorts & hotels. Dubailand is expected to attract 15 million visitors to Dubai by the year 2015. It will have a minimum of 55 hotels and its projects a population of 2.5 million people, which includes tourists, workers and residents, once fully operational.
Motor City is one of the 45 mega projects of Dubailand and covers a land size of 38 million sqf. It will be a year-round destination for motor sports fans worldwide. The project will consist of the following attractions: Dubai Autodrome: a FIA sanctioned 5.39 km circuit, which offers six different configurations and incorporates a Race & Driving school and a CIK approved Karting track. Formula one theme park: a visionary and permanent theme park offering simulator rides, thrilling live demonstrations, interactive museum, retail outlets, restaurants, memorabilia stores and more.
Construction of MotorCity is progressing well. The development includes residential, business, sports and leisure opportunities. The MotorCity components that are set to be completed in 2009 include the Automall complex within the Business Park MotorCity that comprises of Showrooms, an office building and a hotel building; the residential components of Green Community MotorCity with a total of 446 units and UPTOWN MotorCity that will have a total of 3000 housing units.
Al Futtaim Carillion was appointed to take care of the construction of the apartment buildings and villas at Motorcity which consists of 2062 apartments and 34 villas with over 300,000m3 of concrete required. It is divided into three phases. Phase 1 has 909 apartment’s which have to be handed over on 31st July 2008, phase 2 consists of 533 apartments that have to be handed over on 30th November 2008 and the project will be completes on 19th May 2009 by handing over Phase 3 with 654 apartments and villas. Al Futtaim Carillion has more than 1.500 PERI tableforms in use on the construction site at the moment.
