Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) is the world’s premier purpose-built high-technology park for the microelectronics and the semiconductor industry.
DSO is an innovation-driven technology community, housing microelectronics- and optoelectronics-related enterprises, a state-of-the-art Microelectronics Innovation Center (MIC), fabrication plants, research and development centers and specialized academic institutions and residential areas.
DSO has also announced that its infrastructure design will be finalized by end of 2004, following which construction will commence in phases. The design for the DSO Headquarter Complex is in the final stages of completion and the Complex will be ready in the first half of 2006.
PERI's Vario wall formwork system was preferred over several competing systems on account of its reliability and excellent fair face finish. The water proof concrete walls contained slow setting GGBS concrete which demanded a higher pressure rating from the Vario wall formwork.
The project management opted for PERI's DK tie system over conventional metal water barriers in order to obtain a better quality end product for the client. The DK system allowed formwork e.g. the formwork to be rotated every 2 hours, even with a zero failure rate of the tie locations.
